What Is It?
Regular concrete patterned and colored to resemble natural materials. Stamps are pressed into plastic concrete. Color comes from integral pigments, dry-shake hardener, and release agents.
Advantages
30-50% less than natural materials. No joints where weeds grow. Extremely durable. Less maintenance than pavers. Unlimited pattern/color combinations.
Limitations
Can crack — and repairs are more noticeable. Can be slippery when wet (use anti-slip sealers). Color fades without re-sealing every 2-3 years.
Best Applications
Patios, walkways, pool deck borders, driveway accents, outdoor kitchen areas. Less ideal for large driveway surfaces where control joints interrupt patterns.
Choosing a Contractor
Stamped concrete requires genuine skill. Timing is critical. Ask to see completed projects in person before committing.
