Common Problems
Diagonal wall cracks, sticking doors/windows, uneven floors, gaps between walls and ceilings, slab cracks. Not all are cause for alarm.
When Repair Works
Most issues can be addressed with repair: steel pressed pilings, bell-bottom piers, mudjacking/foam injection, or crack injection.
When a New Pour Makes Sense
Severe structural failure with multiple wide cracks, improper original construction, major additions changing structural loads, or when demolition and rebuilding is most cost-effective. Less common than many fear.
Get Professional Assessment
Have a structural engineer — not just a repair contractor — evaluate your foundation for an unbiased assessment.
Prevention
Maintain consistent moisture around your foundation with proper drainage, gutter extensions, and foundation watering during dry spells.
